
If you are looking for perfectly groomed slopes, then you’ve come to the right place! The Grossarltal-Dorfgastein ski area boasts around 70 km of ski trails for young and old. Reliable snow conditions, wide slopes and modern ski lifts – the perfect way to describe the Grossarltal-Dorfgastein ski area in a few words.

Around 35 km of cleared winter hiking trails in the Grossarltal Valley invite you to explore the valley on foot. Some trails meander along the river whilst others take you uphill. When you reach your destination, don’t be surprised if a leisurely stop with a hearty snack, a hot mulled wine or the famous “Jägertee” (tea with rum and citrus flavour) beckons.

Since winter of 2010, Grossarl has had a 2-km-long illuminated cross-country trail in Reitwiese. It is open every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Since the winter of 2002-2003, cross-country skiers have enjoyed the 3-km-long illuminated night trail at the Aschaustüberl in Hüttschlag. It is open every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm.

Trees covered in fluffy snow, rocks twisted into interesting shapes by the wind, and you may even spot a deer, a chamois or a whole herd of stags. Above the tree line, endless vistas with countless alpine peaks await you.
Our guests can borrow snowshoes and poles for free from the Auszeit chalet village.

How about strolling through the snowy winter landscape? Around 35 km of cleared winter hiking trails await you in Grossarl and Hüttschlag. Some of the winter hiking trails run along the river, whilst others lead uphill to the higher-lying alpine farms. Some mountain huts are also open in winter.

The Grossarltal Valley is not only known for skiing – there are so many other things to do off the ski trails, too. How about a sledge ride down the snow-covered slopes? Two toboggan runs await you in the Grossarltal Valley. The runs are home to fun and action for the whole family.
You will find four Bavarian curling rinks in Grossarltal – which speaks to the popularity of this traditional sport. This sport is particularly popular in the Grossarltal Valley and combines fun and precision. You can rent equipment directly at the Bavarian curling rinks.

This means that a ski pass here is not only valid at our “home” ski area – the Grossarltal-Dorfgastein ski resort – but also in a total of 5 independent and individual winter sports regions with a total of 25 holiday resorts, 270 modern lifts and a whopping 760 kilometres of slopes.
